English as a Second Language
SCC also offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program which prepares students for success in regular academic degree programs. There are five levels of classes, from beginning to advanced English. Free tutoring and English Conversation classes are also available. New students take a placement exam upon arrival to SCC to test into the appropriate English level. Students in the program work on improving the following skills:- Reading

- Grammar

International Admission Requirements
- A completed application form signed by the applicant
- Academic program admission: 500 (paper test)/61 (Internet) TOEFL or 5.5 IELTS or Pre-1 STEP
English as a Second Language program admission: 450 (paper test)/45 (Internet) TOEFL or 4.0 IELTS or Grade 2 STEP - Official high school documents, transcripts, and completion certificates
