Overview

Established in 1965, Seminole State College of Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS). As one of Florida's fastest-growing colleges, Seminole State offers numerous options for people of all ages and backgrounds. With approximately 32,000 students, Seminole State is committed to providing a wide range of student-centered, learning-focused opportunities.

Location

  • Seminole State has four campuses in Central Florida, one of the world’s leading travel destinations.
  • Seminole State College is located 45 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and about 15 minutes from the city of Orlando.
  • The region’s top theme parks, Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios are less than a 45 minute drive from Seminole State.

Campus Life

  • More than 30 clubs and organizations provide opportunities for volunteering, mentoring and fun. Students can choose to join student government associations, the student newspaper, leadership institutes and international student clubs.
  • The Student Activities Office also offers campus activities, including a variety series in which comedians, hypnotists and other surprise guests visit for performances.
  • Seminole State offers a variety of theater and musical performances, planetarium shows and guest speakers.
  • Seminole State also competes in the NJCAA with three intercollegiate sports: baseball, softball and women’s golf.

Academics/Programs

  • Seminole State College offers bachelor’s, Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, specialized career certificates, continuing professional education, adult education, English for academic purposes courses and a Language Institute.
  • Students can select from traditional year-round classes, cooperative education opportunities and distance learning courses. Day, evening and weekend classes are also offered.
  • The college offers more than 100 degrees and certificate programs and several academically advanced programs, including the Art and Phyllis Grindle Honors Institute.
