Program Description
Overview
CSN is a public, two-year college with more than 43,000 full-time students. We offer an open, academic environment where students of all ages and backgrounds can discover their potential and achieve their goals. There are currently more than 700 international students from almost 70 countries in attendance.
Academics
In addition to studying in ultra-modern facilities on three beautiful campuses, students at CSN will find more than 215 degrees and certificates to choose from. Students can pursue a one-year certificate of achievement, a two-year associate degree, a four-year bachelor degree in dental hygiene, or complete the first two years of a four-year bachelor degree at CSN within Nevada's System of Higher Education (NSHE) and transfer to either the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) or the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
CSN is best known for its highly-respected programs in hotel management, casino management, and travel and tourism. Nursing, telecommunications, engineering, public safety, computer information technology, and international business are other popular areas of study among international students. With more than 130 different fields of study, it is possible to study nearly anything you desire.
Facilities
CSN is one of the fastest growing colleges in the United States. Millions of dollars have been spent on recent additions to the campus. These include a Telecommunications Building, a Science Complex, and a Health Sciences Building. Most recently, a new library has opened and helps secure CSN's reputation as one of the most modern and high-tech colleges in the United States. Students enjoy access to multiple computer laboratories, an interactive computer learning center with the latest in computer technology, an outstanding multimedia international language center and a world-renowned resort industry training facility. The college also has one of the largest Cisco computer networking academies in the United States.
Benefits of the Small Class
With class sizes averaging 25 to 30 students, students at CSN are able to receive one-on-one attention in the classroom. Many international students find that the smaller classes at CSN provide a setting that allows them to easily meet other students and to better understand the American educational system. Smaller class sizes provide a more personalized learning environment and allow professors to pay individual attention to each student. Free tutoring, writing and math labs, and counseling services offer additional opportunities for success.
Location
CSN is located in the heart of the American Southwest and in the entertainment capital of the world. A warm climate and an affordable cost of living make Nevada one of the most attractive places to live and work in the US. There are numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. Las Vegas is able to offer something for everyone.
