About Reading Area Community College
Reading Area Community College (RACC) is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, and extends along the banks of the historic Schuylkill River. Reading Area Community College stands at the gateway to a revitalizing urban center with easy access from all points.RACC has an open admission policy and provides academic excellence and affordability to all students interested in an associate degree. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education accredits all A.A. and A.S. degree programs offered at RACC. RACC has well-educated faculty and hard working administrators. The International Student Advisor is helpful and knowledgeable with Immigration and Naturalization Service issues.
The RACC campus is located near several major east coast cities that can be easily visited on the weekends. Students enjoy the advantage of living in a small town with minimal living expenses that is just hours away from Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C., and the Amish countryside. Reading enjoys four different seasons, with fall the most beautiful.

Therefore, they are extremely helpful to international students seeking a quality education that will also provide them with guidance and experience throughout their lifetimes.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs
RACC requires all students to pass the TOEFL test and score 450 (paper-based), 45 (internet-based) or above to be accepted to the College.Transfer Opportunities

International Student Services
RACC has orientation for international students to assist with their individual needs. Housing on campus is not available, but RACC provides a list of the available apartments near the College. Many ethnic restaurants are close to campus and the RACC cafeteria is open every day until 7 p.m. Public transportation connects the RACC campus to areas throughout the Reading community.The International Festival is one of the activities that international students look forward to each year. For this event, international students share their culture with the community by performing ethnic dances and wearing traditional costumes. Also, each year the international students have the option of visiting New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., or the Baltimore Harbor. On many occasions, they also visit area museums.
