Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) welcomes international students seeking a rewarding educational experience in the United States. As Utah's only comprehensive community college, SLCC has offered quality education since 1948. Full-time enrollment is 13,000 students. Students take classes, attend workshops and receive training in more than 120 programs annually. Salt Lake City is Utah's capital surrounded by the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains, located 24 km east of the Great Salt Lake, the world's second largest body of salt water (second to the Dead Sea). College for the World's Community
Salt Lake Community College welcomes students from the world over. We host 300 students from 60 countries providing international students the opportunity to start with English as a second language, continue in a two associate of arts or science degree then transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor's degree. SLCC educates and trains students for today's most critical fields awarding more Associate degrees and certificates than any other Utah institution. SLCC placed fifth in the U.S. for the number of associate degrees awarded in 2007. A recent study concluded that SLCC has an overall graduation rate 3½ times greater than its peer institutions.SLCC offers technical and vocational programs to prepare students for employment. Internships, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and entrepreneurial support at Salt Lake Community College help students gain access to critical services and make important contributions in every sector of the global economy. English as a Second Language (ESL)
SLCC offers a comprehensive intensive ESL program, from beginning through college preparatory levels. ESL classes focus on individual needs through intensive practice in conversation, listening, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing and computer-aided instruction. Students can choose from specialized classes in TOEFL prep, business, English and American culture and history. SLCC accepts new students five times each year to assist international student schedules.Transfer
SLCC offers transferable degree programs designed to prepare students to successfully transfer a university. More than 70% of SLCC students have transferred to over 55 four-year universities across the U. S. SLCC has articulation agreements with all Utah public universities.
