Who are we?

While over 90% of students at Saint Michael's are U.S. nationals, we have offered English language and academic training programs for international students since 1954. During these nearly 50 years, more than 15,000 international students from 65 countries have studied here.

Academic quality is a top priority for Saint Michael's. The university offers outstanding faculty, small classes, and state of the art technology. A residential campus, students live in comfortable dormitories which enable them to participate in many social and recreational activities on campus, well-known for its peaceful beauty and the unique architecture of its buildings. Above all, the caring faculty and staff give each student the individual attention and support they need to grow and succeed academically.

What programs do we offer?

Undergraduate Programs. Students may earn a Bachelors degree in one of 30 subjects including Business, Economics, Journalism, Accounting, Bio-Chemistry, Engineering, Pre-Medical Studies, Computer Science, International Studies, as well as subjects in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.

(Post) Graduate Programs. We offer Masters Degree programs as well as short-term, non-degree programs in TESOL, Education, and Clinical Psychology.

TESOL. We offer Masters Degrees in TESOL as well as short term and summer programs.

Bridge Program in Academic English. Students take advanced or pre-academic English AND one or two university courses at the same time

Foundation Year or Semester. For graduates of secondary school who wish to prepare for university. They may take ESL, pre-academic, and actual university courses (with the supervision and assistance of a qualified instructor of course). Students receive university credit while studying in this program and enjoy all the facilities a university has to offer.

Intensive English Programs. Courses last from 6 to 16 weeks and are designed for students or professionals with low-intermediate to advanced levels of English, who wish to improve their English speaking, writing, and comprehension.

TOEFL Preparation. A unit on TOEFL Preparation is included in all Saint Michael's Intensive and Pre-Academic English courses.

No time for TOEFL or IELTS before you arrive? No problem. We will enroll you in our Intensive English Program and test you ourselves upon arrival. As soon as you're ready, you may transfer directly into our pre-academic or academic programs.

Conditional Admittance. Yes, we can offer this for students who wish to begin their undergraduate study (Bachelor's Degree), but whose English is not quite at the level of 79 (ibT). We will also consider it for students seeking a Master's.

Why should you study English at Saint Michael's?

Saint Michael's College offers students a unique and individualized opportunity to study English, beginning when they are met in person at the airport and provided with a campus orientation. Students work in small classes ranging from six to 15 students. In addition to practicing English with conversation partners and tutors, students use a modern language lab and Computer Assisted Language Learning. Our experienced faculty all hold advanced degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language.
