On campus, students have access to a recreation center, student health services, a state-of-the art library with a 24-hour study center, free tutoring services, numerous social and academic student organizations and a host of artistic and cultural events.

Academic Degree Study

  • Marshall University conditionally admits students to most academic programs without English proficiency if they apply to the L.E.A.P. Program at the same time they apply to their degree program.
  • Over 70 undergraduate programs, including business, engineering, information technology, environmental science, journalism, education and psychology.
  • More than 50 graduate, doctoral and medical degree programs, including TESOL, biomedical/biological science, health care administration, human resource management, information systems, MBA, and technology management.
  • Scholarships up to $3,500 are available to freshman and transfer undergraduate students based on academic merit.
  • Graduate students can compete to receive assistantships that include partial tuition waivers and stipends.

L.E.A.P. Intensive English Program

  • Classes meet year-round; 15-week sessions begin in September and January and a 10-week session begins in June.
  • There are three levels of instruction with small classes, usually no more than 15 students.
  • All full-time instructors hold advanced degrees in the field of teaching English as a second language.
  • Nearly 75 students from over a dozen countries enroll in the L.E.A.P. program each semester.
  • TOEFL requirement for admission to Marshall is waived for those who complete the advanced level of the L.E.A.P. program.

Student Life

  • Over 14,000 students attend Marshall University, including 500 international students from 60 countries.
